I don’t like change.
If you’re like me, you’ll know change can be hard to deal with, especially when you’ve been used to something for a LONG time.
As you guys have all seen, I have been pretty absent recently. But this is good. I have spent time prioritising the right things and getting my mind right, and ultimately, a lot of change has come about because of it.
The first change is quite a big deal. As most of you know, I have a degree in Spanish Studies, as I had it planned that I would become a translator. After moving to Spain and trying out translation and teaching, I quickly realised this wasn’t for me and that I needed a career change. I then took the plunge and applied for something a lot more relevant to me and something I was passionate about… an MA in Digital Marketing. It’s funny how from one year to the next, everything can change… I have now finished my MA and am awaiting my results – praying hard that I did well because it was HARD work!!
I am no longer a student!
Anyway, off the back of this MA, I have been super blessed and landed a job as a Digital Marketing Executive for a great company and in the best location! 10 mins away from me and in a marina, can it get any better than that?! While this is great news, it’s change. I have been a student for the last 5 years so now it’s time to go into the working world. I started last week and I can say it hasn’t been easy! While I’ve thrown myself into it and got a lot done, I am finding it hard to adjust! I guess it will get better with time! I am loving the smarter wardrobe though!
The next change is this, I am moving home! A lot of you may not know this, but I live with my family on a church property. We have lived here for the last 12 years serving and getting stuck into the heart of the church. This has been very hard on not only family life, but also on me, however it has been much more rewarding.
I have learnt so much living here and I can truly say I have grown and matured seeing so many good things happen, and a few bad (life isn’t all cupcakes and rainbows!) Anyway, at the end of the year, we will be moving back to our old house and it is going to be hard – mainly because my bedroom won’t have high ceilings and beaut views!(click here to see my current bedroom). But I’m excited and can’t wait to see how it all pans out!
NOTE – Yes, this means a new bedroom to style out. I am actually moving into the converted garage which is a room with a bathroom, so I am calling it the West Wing (LOL). I will be doing a post on how the space develops and how I style it up, so stay tuned!
MY SISTER IS HAVING A BABY GIRL!!! I would tell you her name, but knowing my sis and bro-in-law, they could potentially change their minds! Plus I’ll leave it for them to announce :D. I am so excited for this baby to arrive. My little nephew Jude is the best thing that ever happened and he keeps me entertained all day long, so I can’t wait to see how he adapts to this little girly! I also can’t wait to teach her how to be sassy (sorry Xen) and do her hair etc. I love her so much already and can’t wait for her to join the family.
I’m getting a new car. This isn’t massive news, but I have been driving for nearly 6 years now and this whole time, I have been driving my little red Ford KA. Not gonna lie, she’s looking a bit old now, but she’s been with me through A LOT. It’ll be sad for her to go, but it’s about time I get a nice upgrade! This is a good change haha.
so I’m done with the life updates. There is a lot more to add to this list but I don’t want to bore you all. All I can say is this, life is getting busy and more challenging, but it’s making me become a better person. I embrace change!
