At the end of last month, I was very lucky to receive these products complimentary from Rimmel to try out. Some of them were hits and some were misses, but that’s what I am here for, to tell you all about it before you spend your money.
The products are quite out there for me as my makeup tends to be on the neutral/matte side of the fence but I’m all for trying new things! So here we go…
1. Wonderfully Real Mascara (Extreme Black)
I’m not too keen to be honest. While the mascara REALLY lengthened my lashes and didn’t clump them up too much, I was quite disappointed. It took a long time to dry and after about an hour it had transferred onto my eyelids and under my eyes leaving my with smudges EVERYWHERE. I tried this a few times to see if it was a fluke, but no. It does it every time 🙁 I currently use the volume de Chanel by Chanel Mascara and that one is really hard to beat, so that probably didn’t help! Have a look at the pictures at the end of the post for results.
2. Ink Me Up Liners (Black, Gold)
Liquid eyeliners have a place in my heart, so when I saw TWO in the package, I died. I got a black one and a gold one and they are very good. I didn’t get a prink on my eyelid and it was quite easy to apply (although you have to have a VERY steady hand!) In the image below, I used black on top and gold underneath and I think it looks very effective!
3. Ink Me Up Tattoos
These will be great for a festival or party/event in the summer! I am a henna addicts so I really love the designs they came up with! The only downside to the pack is that they included a lot of stars, and personally, I am not a fan of them. I am very excited to use these though and am sure I will post a lot of images on Instagram!
4. Lip Art Lipsticks (Blush Gold, Pearlescent, Gold)
Now I don’t tend to wear lipstick unless its a nude colour or matte so I was quite hesitant to try these out. I can’t really fault them as they are very pigmented and very metallic, so if that’s what you’re after, then go for it! The only thing I would say is they are quite sticky, so they may need reapplying every so often (especially if you’re sipping on a few drinks!).
5. Nail Varnish (Ruby Crush)
Thi was my accent nail colour at Christmas and it was beautiful! Very easy to apply with a wide brush and very densely glittered, so no need for 7498938 coats! My nails were dark red and then I used this nail varnish (red and silver glitter)on the fourth fingers (ring fingers) to give my nails a bit of Christmas bling!
Overall, I think these products are very hit and miss, with the good ones being very good and the bad ones being…not so good. I am, however, very grateful for these products and I hope this review helps you when it comes to making decisions to buy!
